I wouldn't worry yet, if we can just contain the disease within the Mexican border, we'll be... - Oh, crap!

Remember that during the disease of 1918 we still didn't know what a Virus was ;)
Also, the 197x version is interesting as it's still alive and kicking today, frankly at the moment there is very little concern for it and it hasn't yet proved more lethal than the normal flu's have been the last 15 years. however, if you're afraid, go buy an alcohol based cleaner for your cellphone, keyboard and mouse, and a fresh set of soaps+towels for your bathrooms. |

Sure regular flu etc has killed far more, but the point of this is that it is killing healthy, young/middle age people, whereas regular flu usually takes out the old and infirm. That, is why this is a bit scary.
Sorry to hear about your brother's proximity Zora but they news says that most need to have something like 15 minutes close contact with an infected to have a high risk of getting it so fingers crossed he'll be just fine. |

Nine people dead of ~250 confirmed to have the actual Swine Influenza A/H1N1 virus, the majority of which "have made a full recovery without need of medical attention or antiviral drugs". Sorry, I'm unable to get worried about something that in 97% of cases is fixed with a couple of paracetamol and a nice cup of tea, shit, more people choke to death swallowing those paracetamol.

I have high hopes it will merge with bird flu and we will finally have flying pigs.
